Granola

I can't even tell you how many times I've made this granola recipe. I make it often...and the husband requests it even more often. It is simple, versatile, and only takes 30 minutes to make. Here's the basic recipe. Try it out and adjust it for what you and your family likes!

What you need
- 3 C rolled oats (make sure they are labeled GF)
- 1/4 C brown sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 C maple syrup
- 1/4 C Vegetable oil (not pictured)
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 egg whites

Directions
- Preheat oven to 325

- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside

- In a small pot over medium heat, stir together the maple syrup, oil and cinnamon

- When the syrup mixture starts to bubble slightly, remove from heat and let it cool

- In a large bowl, add the oats, brown sugar and salt

- Mix together until everything is evenly distributed

- Pour in the syrup mixture and stir to coat evenly

- In a small bowl, whisk 2 eggs whites together.

- Add egg whites to the oat mixture and stir well

- Place oat mixture on parchment lined baking sheet and spread out even and flat

- Bake at 325 for 15 minutes. Take out baking sheet and flip granola over so that the bottom is now on top.  Bake for another 12 minutes.

- Remove granola and allow to cool completely. Break into pieces and leave out to dry.

- Add your favorite mix-ins and enjoy! The husband usually leaves his plain or adds raisins. I like dried cranberries and shredded coconut in mine (but I like it plain too!)

It's really good as a cereal too with some almond milk...
Or with some plain yogurt and fruit!

Make it your own and enjoy!!
