Josh's Nursery

We've officially been in our new house here in Florida for about 2 weeks now. We are (mostly) unpacked with the exception of pictures and decorative things and we are absolutely loving setting everything up. It's so much fun figuring out where things are going to go! Our first few days in the house were spent painting and unpacking the necessities, setting up furniture, installing the internet and cable, etc. Jon and I would work after he got home from his work day while Wubba slept at my mom's house (which is conveniently only 6 miles away!) We worked our tails off but are SO happy with the way the house is looking. We still have some projects left on our list to tackle over the next couple weeks but we are almost there! I will do a blog post on our house when it's all done.

My first goal (after getting the necessities unpacked) was to set up Josh's nursery. Since we moved to Charlotte 6 weeks after he was born, I didn't set one up in our apartment. Once we got to Charlotte we stayed with family for 2 months (no nursery) and when we got into our own house we painted Josh's room and set up his crib right away. But I took my time figuring out what I wanted on the walls and how to incorporate a music/guitar theme without going too overboard. After a while, we started praying about moving back to Florida so I held off on his nursery.

Now that I know we are in this house for at least the next year I was determined for Josh to have his room. It's about a year later than I expected but I love how it came together!

Josh's finished room!

I'm may add more over his crib...just not sure what yet.

Our sweet neighbor painted this before we even knew what theme we were going to do for his room. I love how well it matches his bedding!

11 Months!

Well here we are…11 months. I'm in the depths of despair.

Ok, not really. But I'm sad my little baby is turning more and more into a toddler. BUT…as my mom reminded me the other day "You want him to grow up. They are so much fun!" And it's true. I can't wait to have to toddler!

This has been a big month for our boy! Not only is Josh continuing to grow and change but we made a BIG move back to Orlando a couple weeks ago. Our buddy is such a trooper and packing and moving didn't phase him at all. I'm so grateful for a "go with the flow" baby! We are loving being back home so far and we move into our house this week and we can't wait!

Here's some more of what Josh has been doing this month!

New skills: Taking steps! He's still wobbly and a little "drunk" looking but he will stand for a long time on his own and has taken tiny little half-steps and then either falls down or slowly squats down to his knees. It's the cutest thing! He loves walking while holding on to someone's hands and if I put him down on his feet he reaches up until he finds hands to hold. He is also saying lots of syllables and consonantsspecifically baba (which he says for his bottle and his Wubba) and lots of "G" sounds. Now the trick is going to be figuring out what he's saying because they are definitely sounding like words! He still says "book" clear as a bellour official first word! And he's also started saying mama again which makes me happy. He's a mama's boy! He's also becoming a swimmer! He loves being in the pool and splashing around in his float. He also will "jump" off the side of the pool into my arms when I count to threeit's so cute to watch him anticipate it!

Measurements: He feels heavier so I wouldn't be surprised if he's at least 20 pounds by now. We will definitely reach the tripled birth weight by his first birthday! He's so skinny in his waist though which makes wearing shorts kinda ridiculous. His bathing suit just falls off him and it's a 6 month size. I may have to learn to sew to make clothes that fit him! Luckily, it's summer and plenty warm enough to just let him hang out at home in just a diaperwhich he actually prefers.

Favorite Food: He's a great eater! Lately I've just been giving him bites of pretty much everything. We haven't done eggs yet (I will probably wait until he's one just to be safe) and obviously are staying away from anything on the not safe yet list. He's not a big meat eater yetbut he loves almost all fruits and vegetables. Green peas are his favorite and he will eat an entire bowl full! He's also discovered the deliciousness of watermelon and tries to shove 5-6 pieces in his mouth at once. He also loves drinking water from his straw sippy cup.

Favorite Activities: Crawling, walking while holding on to someone, cruising around Mimi's house, laughing at Mimi's dog Roxie, swimming in the pool and the ocean, listening to the worship music at church, reading "ooks" and being rocked to sleep (I hope he enjoys this one for a while…love my Wubba snuggles!)

Best Moments: Being reunited with my family, watching him take his first step, introducing him to the ocean, swimming in the pool as a family, hearing him say mama again and his hugs and kisses!

Packing up the truck!

All packed! And we have too much stuff

Hooray!

We were in the pool the very next day!
His new favorite treat is dill pickles…that's my boy!

Pool time!

Helloooooo beach!

Many trips here in our future!
My sweet and happy boy!

Happy 11 months Joshy!
